Being in a creative rut can be a right pain can't it? That's why we thought we would post up these tips to let you mix things up a little, whether you need them right now or in the future 🦎 1. Mix up your routine. Sometimes it's habits that create the rut in the first place. Why not take a moment to review your morning routine, for example, and supercharge that innovative brain of yours. You'll be back on full form in no time! 2. It's nap time!!! Nourish those creative juices with a GECK-TASTIC nap 💚 There is no harm in taking a breather and putting yourself on recharge 😊 3. Inspiring people inspire people. Maybe your creative rut is due to a lack of inspiration. Have a chat with your fellow creatives, get some advice or simply chat about cheese (like we do) to really get those cogs turning again 🎉 4. Soak up some nature 🌳 Inspiration can strike anywhere, therefore a walk outside on a beautiful sunny day with exposure to nature may remove that cloud of struggle an dare you to open your sketchbook and take a drive into artistic freedom! 5. So many sketchbooks with so many paper types! As an artist, having so many paper options is essential for your creative practice. That is why we have a fair amount of paper choice! Sometimes, it can be really confusing trying to work out what is right for your creative needs. Have a read & see which paper type is right for you! 🦎 Classy Gecko papers have 150gsm All Media cartridge paper within. This paper is ideal for pencil sketching, pastel & charcoal works & even a very light watercolour wash. Your all round sketching friend! The same paper is within the Flashy Gecko & Swanky Gecko! 🦎 The Krafty Gecko range has two paper types within the sketchbooks. We have the 170gsm All Media Kraft card version (or the Krafty Krafty as we like to call it) & the 150gsm All Media cartridge version (same as the Classy). Both versions are ideal for all round sketching & creating & will hold very light paint work. As you can see, we got our spook on and made these spiders for the ultimate Halloween desk set up, decoration or table place setting 🕷 but your crafting activites do not have to be limited to just spiders!
